                  Regional Sales Coordinators...

They both are bright and have a good education.  They're hard-working and have integrity.  They each have a region in a decent size city and have a large number of associates.  But that's where the similarities end...

The first RSC begins his (or her) week with about 8 interviews scheduled.  He's excited because he's lined up some really good candidates to talk to.  He's going to be meeting with candidates who are pretty much like him... 
self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and goal-oriented.  He knows that he'll find at least eight good associates this month (because he finds eight every month).

The second RSC begins his week hoping to be able to schedule about 10 or more interviews, although they're not all on the calendar yet.  He's not really looking forward to the week, because he already knows that about 6 of the 10 candidates won't show.  He knows he'll have to interview a good 20 people to find even one person who'll be somewhat interested and qualified to be a sales associate.  He thinks to himself, "It's harder than ever to find good candidates.  Oh, I can find plenty of bodies... just not many who are really a good fit.  I'm not really sure what else to do except stay focused and ride it out."

The first RSC has cash flow challenges just like everyone else, but is generating enough profits to make ends meet.

The second RSC also has cash flow challenges, but his financial picture is much different.  He's spending too much money and time each month on internet candidates.  He's dipped into savings and already has borrowed too much.  He sits at his desk saying to himself, "I wish I hadn't borrowed so much.  I hope I can hold on long enough to turn things around."

The first RSC works long hours, puts on 25 quality sales associates each quarter, and still gets hassled by the State office.  (Hey! This is reality, not fantasy, right?) Yeah,.. the State office wants him to put on just a few more associates ...

The second RSC struggles to make his recruiting quota by the end of the year.  He gets hassled - even threatened - by the State office about meeting his goals.  He goes home each night thinking, "I'm working as hard as I can and I'm committed to succeeding, but what if I don't meet my recruiting and production goals?  Will they really let me go?  I don't know what else I would do."  The fact that so many other RSC's are in the same boat doesn't make him feel any better...
